Reaching back to his political speeches, Bush planned to speak of values important to many Americans - courage and compassion, reverence and integrity, respect for differences of faith and race. "The values we try to live by never change," he said.
The president was expected to repeat his belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman but stop short of seeking a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages.
"All of us - parents, schools, government - must work together to counter the negative influence of the culture and to send the right messages to our children," the excerpts said.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!! Wow, I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time. Thanks, President Bush! [goofy after-skool-special grin and victory sign] I think it's hilarious that the statement about marriage being between a man and a woman, and that inference that same-sex marriage is a 'negative influence of the culture', coming RIGHT after the statement about 'respect for differences of faith and race' is just so perfectly placed. And I for one think the government's doing MORE than enough to 'protect the children', while parents aren't doing jack-fucking-shit. I can't tell you how many kids rent M rated games from me every single day, and I'll let them because the parent's standing right there. If they don't wanna take the time to check on the rating of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or True Crime: Streets of LA, then I'm happy to let the little kiddies go fuck their minds over. And the few times I HAVE called it on games like that, the parents were just like, 'Yeah, I know.' O_o
Oh, I watched American Idol today. Yes yes, I know, leave me alone! I watch for one thing and one thing alone; seeing all those bloody fucking AWFUL kids get laughed off the stage. Once all the horrible ones are gone I'll probably lose interest and stop watching. But DAYUMN, some of them tonight were just... [evil giggles]
I'm so fucking cruel XD.
