[Phoenix] Mmmmmmm.

I absolutely failed on everything tonight, but I'm hoping I can be forgiven since I was up till 3a last night I suck yay. Does it help if I say I finagled a day off tomorrow and plan to put the last tweaks on the player guide and then tag like the wind? ;o;

...Random question. Anyone else ever start to favor text-less icons on their personal journals after using them so much on their RP journals?

Also, Panic! at the Disco is ridiculously infectious and poppy and I think I like it. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out kept me from dying at work today. Thanks, Panic!

I suppose. Most icons I see on my flist, though, are crops and enhancing the colors. That's...really about it. I do remember a trend earlier in the year, though, when people felt the need to lighten the colors to the point of being blinded.

I guess it depends on the icon artist as well. I've seen a lot who flood them with effects to the point where the image itself is almost indistinguishable, and other who're TOO minimalistic for my tastes. I mean, there's an art to cropping and formatting, but sometimes an icon needs more to be finished. Though I'm the type who HAS to have a border on her icons, if nothing else, so I'm probably not a very good judge.

And icons definitely follow trends--people take styles from people who are more adept, and the ones who take them often screw them up because they don't have the skills necessary to pull the style off successfully. XD

Haha, probably, tbh. Borders seem very...out dated, and they tend to make image look more confined than it already is; it's really rare to see them anymore, if only because they have fallen out of style. There is one iconer that still uses them -- for every icon. It's a shame, too; her cropping is amazing, and I'd use her icons, otherwise.

Oh, I know. You're talking to someone that watches icon communities like a hawk, even if she's never used photoshop in her life.
