[Phoenix] Can't speak
At this point, we're finding out that 52% of Californians cast their vote to write discrimination into the state constitution. Here's a bit of humor that I'm sure voters on both side of Prop 8 can appreciate.

I'm so sorry I didn't get you replies sooner. I really didn't think this thing would affect me this badly. I mean, we weren't really planning to ever get married, though that was always a possibility, I guess. And we don't need the government to tell us our love's valid, it's a hell of a lot more valid than some of the things that pass for marriages in this country.

I guess being told you don't have a right everyone else has from birth isn't ever an easy thing to hear.

It makes complete sense that you're upset. I mean, I got really pissed off and depressed when Ohio pulled this shit 4 years ago, and that was both forgone conclusion and something I didn't have a personal stake in.

You two take care of yourselves, alright?
You've got each other and it's not over yet.

I really believed that if there was any state this couldn't possibly pass in, it would be California. That disappointment is one of the worst parts of this whole thing. Still, people are already filing lawsuits, and we haven't even gotten in the 3 or 4 million absentee ballots that were out. Not much of a chance, but it's something, at least. And I know we're just going to keep fighting until it goes down. Considering how many of the 18-29 year old people that were against it in the exit polls, that time will come.

We're gonna take good care of each other, thank you. ♥ We've been each other's rock through worse struggles, and as long as we have each other there's nothing we can't survive.
