Oh noes!
Well, in an attempt to get on a more regular schedule of looking at my friends page again, I'm thinking of cutting it down. There are tons of journals and communities on there that I don't read anymore, and some that I don't think I even recognize O_o. So if you don't want to be taken off my friends list, please say so! Some of you are going to be kept either way, heh. You're not getting rid of me that easily! But a lot of names are probably going to be cut, and a whole lot of communities. I don't want to hurt any feelings, of course, but I'll probably cut down to only a dozen or so people. So again, if you want to stay, comment.

Dude, LJ notify isn't sending me everyone's replies, what gives O_o. First Jamie, now you! Anyway, I'd never run the risk of missing any of those fics ^_~. (picks corresponding icon w00t!)

Looks like it's a known issue: http://www.livejournal.com/support/.

Heh, maybe one day I'll actually write another one! Putting all my effort into a original story at the moment. I was going to do NaNoWriMo, but it's bigger than that - 35k words and I'm only about a third of the way through! AND *dramatic pause* it's the first one of a possible trilogy, so... Yeah. Kind of eating up all my writing time. Still, when the dreaded writer's block strikes (as it has yet to but I'm sure it will) anything could happen...

Good to be hearing a bit more from you recently, even if I don't always manage to respond to your posts. Maybe we might see a little offering from the pen of Tif soon? *puppydog eyes*

NaNoWriMo? What's that? [hides all her 'welcome to Nanowrimo; week 1 of Nanowrimo; week 2 of Nanowrimo' etc. letters]

Seriously, I have three or four novel ideas and several short story plot bunnies floating around (OMG ORIGINAL IDEAS!!! I've NEVER had original plot/character/setting ideas before :O) but this past couple of months have been so hectic (with two week-long trips, getting sick, working through Thanksgiving and the accompanying rush, puttering around with things like sewing and making a new layout, doing a few things for the small company thing Bridgie and I and our friend Manda are all involved in, and CHRISTMAS SHOPPING, that I have been barely able to even think about writing. Or rather, I think about it a lot, before getting distracted and going off to do something else. XP

I didn't write a single word for NaNoWriMo. I'm hoping once the year ends and things are a little less crazy, I can make my own NaNoWriMo XD.

Christmas shopping? What's that? XD

I've just spent two weeks driving around England visiting various monuments/buildings for inspiration, and devoted much of my time while not travelling to writing. Real life, like you say, is just too full of distractions and I was getting nowhere fast so I took myself away from it and found, suddenly, that writing became much easier.

I gave up on the idea of NaNoWriMo before I'd even seriously considered it! At least you got the letters! XD For as long as I can remember I've had various different original stories/characters/settings bubbling away in my mind, so I've picked my favourite (should I do the technothriller or the epic fantasy? the comedy or the action/adventure?) and am running with it. The characters and world have been building in my head for the best part of six years, though the plot is a more recent concept :) Putting some of it down on paper, though, is complicated and as usual I find the descriptive content is the hardest.

I was reading some advice someone wrote about writing a novel a while ago and something they said has stuck with me: if you're aiming for 100,000 words and you can manage 1000 a day, that's only three-and-a-bit months. Even if you can only do half that, you can write the first draft in just over half a year. In the scheme of things, that's really not very long. Doesn't help the fact I've only managed to write about 2000 words in the last week and a half, but still... XD

Huh, rambling much? Sorry!
